Manali Seruvalsar Lake - 2 Nts / 3Days

Months: May to November
Days: 3250m / 10,725 ft
Grade: Easy to Moderate

Day 1: After breakfast we drive south from Manali to the small hamlet of Aut from where we cross a bridge over the River Beas and turn northwest into the Banjar valley . The drive is beside the River Tirthan known for its thriving population of Brown and Rainbow Trout and the now rare Himalayan Otter . We drive up to Banjar town and then head uphill to the charming meadows of Shoja where we set up camp for the night.

Day 2: We drive up to the Jalori Pass at 3250m and begin our leisurely trek to the enchanting Seruvalsar Lake at 3100m. On reaching this placid lake 5 Kms and an hour from the pass we relax on its shores and watch the mesmerising surrounding deep pine forests and savour the soothing silence. There is a small temple dedicated to the Nag God. After lunch here we reluctantly return to the Jalori Pass and drive down back to Shoja.

Day 3: Leaving the beautiful meadows of Shoja we head back to Banjar and visit the temple of Rishi Shringa the chief deity of Banjar valley. In the nearby village of Bhagi, this temple built in the Pagoda style has elaborate woodwork and contains images of stone and brass. We return to Manali by evening for dinner and the night.
